    Unanswered: Oracle9207 Patch at AIX5.3

    Hello Everybody,
    i want patch my oracle to at an AIX5.3-Server.
    Now i got the funny Situation, that the Patch-Process ended in proper way. All Tools like SQL*PLUS, EXP, Listener and so on, "said" they are in Patchlevel 7. The catpach-Script ended correct, but the database is after restart (normal) open not patched. The v$version delivered:

    SQL*Plus: Release - Production on Fr Nov 11 09:14:59 2005

    Copyright (c) 1982, 2002, Oracle Corporation. All rights reserved.

    SQL> conn / as sysdba
    SQL> select * from v$version;

    Oracle9i Enterprise Edition Release - 64bit Production
    PL/SQL Release - Production
    CORE Production
    TNS for IBM/AIX RISC System/6000: Version - Production
    NLSRTL Version - Production

    I cannot imagine whats happend. Has anybody of worldwide colleques an idea?
    Many Thanks!

    You wouldn't happen to have multiple databases on the same machine would you... possibly updated one database and not the other?

    Normally, the catpatch.sql utility will run catalog.sql and catproc.sql -- which will cause your version number to be updated internally. However, we have seen in our location that scripts in AIX don't always fall under as close scrutiny in the QA process... meaning, it often works on some platforms, but not in AIX. That is one of the reasons we are now using Redhat.
