    Unanswered: New schema - Oracle

    I am working with Oracle9i through SqlPlus 8.0..........
    I am thinking of creating a new user ,tablespace ,schema with its objects so that this new user can manipulate them from an existing payroll application...Could you advice me accordingly please???Any suggestion will be highly appreciated....coding and syntax samples are highly desirable!!!

    I'm not sure I understood what you want ...

    If you are about to create a testing / development environment, then just create a new user, export current user (the one that owns tables used by payroll application) and import it into newly created one. He will be able to do whatever he wants, without impact on the production data.

    If, on the other hand, you'd like to create a new user who will be able to work directly on existing (production) data, then you should create a new user and grant desired privileges to it (either directly, or through roles if you have them).
