Unanswered: stored procedure problem -301 sqlcode different results in different environments
I have a problem when calling a stored procedure built in Cobol on os390.
The stored procedure is called from a .NET client using db2connect. The stored procedure requires a smallint inparameter, but the client actually calls it using the datatype char length 2. In our testing environments mainframe it works perfectly but on our production mainframe it doesnt work but returns an error sqlcode -301 42895 THE VALUE OF INPUT HOST VARIABLE OR PARAMETER NUMBER CANNOT BE USED AS SPECIFIED
BECAUSE OF ITS DATA TYPE. As we are getting this in production but not in test we have a problem and I am wondering if anyone has any suggestion on how to sync the environments so that I get the same error on my test mainframe. Is there a setting I can tweak in db2 to get this typesafe behavior. Is there a setting in db2connect.
I would be very grateful for any help or suggestion...
