Unanswered: How to trace the person who deleted the data from database..??

    Hello All,

Today, I was told that some 100 problem reports are missing from my database.

I want to find who deleted those records....but no clear cut idea about this.

Please let me know how should I proceed to trace the person who deleted the record....there are 7-8 persons who have Admin rights on this database.

    Thanking in advance.

    Regards,
    Rajeev

I'm not sure of it, but - unless auditing is enabled on your system - I guess you'll have to talk to every one of them. Perhaps someone will admit his/her sin. Or stab a knife into someone else's back.

Please let me know ...what you mean by Auditing ...???

It's near to impossible to talk to everybody...??? And This case is in such a state that nobody will admit his/her sin...:-(

logminer may help you to identify the session which did it (may not identify the persion though) and to retrieve the data.

In future though I would either use auditing or put a trigger to get v$session info when anyone alters data.
