Unanswered: Data results are truncated - any ideas?

    Hi.

Im using the following command to extract data from one of my tables:

    isql -Sserver-Uuser -Ppassword -w30000 > /tmp/test.txt
    USE database
    go
    select column
    from TABLE
    go

The problem is that the column selected contains an extremely long string (10,000 chars) and the data is truncated. Im not sure if the '-w' option is what i require to solve my problem.
Does anyone have any ideas how can i bring back all of the data?

    Thanks!

If "column" is a TEXT or IMAGE column you should look at the TEXTSIZE option (set textsize ...).

If "column" is a wide varchar() column then you need to make sure that you are using a client (isql) that is from a recent (12.5 or later) Sybase release. Otherwise the data will be truncated at 255 characters.

    The set TEXTSIZE option worked!

    Thanks!
