    Unanswered: Update Query?

I am a new joiner, so this forum is going to be very helpful for me.

This is probably something very easy, but I am looking to replace the end of a string e.g. Replace 'Dun and Bradstreet Inc.' with 'Dun and Bradstreet Incorporated' in Access using an Update Query, but no luck.

Also, if I have many records like this eg. Inc. to be replaced with Incorporated, plc with Private Limited Company etc., at the end of a string (or even within a string) how do I do it?

    Hi Tim

Welcome to the forum. I would check the data you are about to change with a select first to be sure you are not going to make any eroneous changes.

    Code:
     SELECT FOO
    FROM BAR
    WHERE FOO LIKE '* inc.*'
To update - check out the REPLACE function in Help

    HTH

EDIT - noticed the bit about end of the string. In that case - remove the wildcard suffix in the above.
