    Unanswered: connection and thread details

    I want to monitor my oracle db and need to get the info related to number of connections, thread count etc. pls let me know the system tables from which I can query these info. i.e am interested in below information obtained from mysql when "show status" command is executed.

    Aborted_clients
    Aborted_connects
    Bytes_received
    Bytes_sent
    Com_commit
    Com_insert
    Com_select
    Com_show_tables
    Connections
    Created_tmp_disk_tables
    Created_tmp_tables
    Created_tmp_files
    Max_used_connections
    Questions
    Slow_queries
    Table_locks_immediate
    Table_locks_waited
    Threads_cached
    Threads_created
    Threads_connected
    Threads_running
    Uptime

    Rather than trying to monitor it as if it was mysql why dont you get a tool like Enterprise manager. It does take time to setup but it will show you a lot, not just about the database but also server stats etc.

    thanx alan for the comment. however i wud like to know the table details to handle it in my application. any pointers will be gratefully received.
