    Unanswered: cli trace

    I am trying to create a cli trace in db2 7.2 (client). i added the following to db2cli.ini. however when i run the the application (warehouse center) no trace is produced.

    [Common]
    Trace=1
    TracePathName=d:\trace.txt
    TraceFlush=1
    TraceComm=1
    TraceTimeStamp=1
    JDBCTrace=1
    JDBCFlush=1
    JDBCTracePathName=d:\trace.txt
    TRACEPIDTID = 1
    TRACETIME = 1

    d:\trace.txt has nothing in it. what am i doing wrong??

    I haven't used Warehouse Center, but is it written in java? Could be using the type-4 driver, in which case the CLI layer is bypassed on the client.

    I think DWC is in Java ... But do you know if it is using Type1 or Type 2 connectivity and the connectivity is direct to DB2 ? All communication to the database may be happening through the DW manager process ..

    Just a thought ... I ma y be wrong.

    Jonathan, IBM did not provide JDBC Type 4 until V8
