    Unanswered: simple access question

hi ive an access table with a list of voter id's and in a seperate column whether they are registered or not,in the form of a tick box.i want to design a simple login screen only letting the people who are registered to continue and the people who are not registered to be prompted with a msg box saying they arent registered.

Any ideas or help would be greatly appreciated.

    regards, van

What does "continuing" entail? Are you trying to prevent opening a form? How are you generating your "logon" form?
oh yeah... documentation... I have heard of that.

yes i want to prevent them from opening a form.im generating my login form via a switchboard.its only a text box and a command button, where the user enters their id and then tries to continue by pressing the command button.i have a table with id numbers.if there id is in the table they can continue and the next form opens, but if their id isnt in the table they arent allowed continue.

    dont know if this helps.

Ok, you could do something like:

    If DCount("id", "yourUserTable", "id = '" & txtYourIDTextBox"'") = 1 Then
    'allow to continue
    else
msgbox "you do not have the proper credentials to continue"
    exit sub
    end if
oh yeah... documentation... I have heard of that.
