    Unanswered: Special character

    Hi,

    i have the following problem:

I like to extract all special characters in one table with many fields.
How can I handle this without using 'replace' for each field and many characters ?

    Thx. for ur suggestions.

You will need to use the replace function, or loop through each letter of the string to eliminate anything not in (A-Z, a-z, 0-9, ...whatever).

You can save yourself some frustration by creating a user-defined function that will do this for any string, though it will not run as fast as if you repeated the logic for each field.
If it's not practically useful, then it's practically useless.
