    Unanswered: Print-flow control

    Problem:

I have a report that consists of 2 Group Headers, and 1 Detail section. I want this report to print out in the following order:

    1. Print Group Header 0 using paper from Tray 1
    2. When step 1 has completed, print Group Header 1 and Detail using paper from Tray 2
    3. When step 2 has completed, continue goto step 1 until all pages printed

    Anyone with any ideas?

That's a printer issue. Whether or not it's possible depends on the printer and driver.

Why not print them as seperate reports?
oh yeah... documentation... I have heard of that.

wonder if you could embed the control characters to switch between printer trays as part of the repoprt defintion?

Again, that falls into the realm of print driver/hardware. I've been mulling this one a bit and I still can't think of a reason not to do it as seperate reports...

Page 1 and then every other odd numbered page is page 1 of a letter, to be printed on letter headed paper. Page 2 and then every even numbered page is the corresponding page 2 for each letter head, to be printed on plain paper.

How does that require a single report? I'm still not getting it. Use two. Try it. You'll like it.
