    Unanswered: unicode encoding schemes

    Hi,

Say I have a Oracle database with unicode character set(UTF-8). If I am going to dump the data(which is of some other character set but compatible with unicode character set i.e subset of unicode character set) using Oracle JDBC driver(JDBC application) , do I need to set anything in JDBC connection parameters like 'encoding scheme - character set is so and so' ?

I know MySQL, gets the info in URL as follows :

    jdbc:mysql://localhost/TestDB?useUnicode=true&characterEncoding=MS932

    MS932 is Japanese character set.

Like this do I need to specify anything in Oracle JDBC URL/connection settings ?

    Please advise,

    Thanks,
    MiraJ
