    Unanswered: auction project

    i am building an auction site in class and i have to display the highest bidder on one of my pages. i was worndering how i would go about doing that?

    i know that i have to do a select statement but what do i put in it to only choose the highest bidder for one particular item?

    try:

    SELECT "colum name" WHERE item="item name" ORDER by "colum name" Dsc

    failing that b a bit more specific

    there may be more than 1 person with the same bid, so to get highest bid, time of bid will determine too.
    so to get the winner :

    SELECT top 1 bidder_name, bid, time WHERE item='item name' ORDER by bid desc, time asc.
