Question Unanswered: Programmatic access to data dictionary?

Not sure if this can be done, but can you access the table dictionaries via programs ? Haven't found anything detailing this in the documentation.

    Am using

    db2 8.2 Express, vb6.

Yes, the layouts of the Syscat views are documented in the SQL Reference VOL I Appendix.

    Thanks Marcus.

Looks like SYSCAT.COLUMNS and SYSCAT.TABLES are what l want to use, now need to determine what properties .TABLES have. Basically want to list current db2 tables, then allow for selection of a single table returning column details.

Will keep checking the manual to see if it lists the available properties for SYSCAT.TABLES.
