Question Unanswered: Photos in the database

I would like to be able to attach an image to the tables I have in the database, (OLEobject) but I can not see the image, just an icon for it and then the report I wish to print based on the table returns with the icon also.

How do I make it display the image instead of a icon or a file name.

    thanks

In your table you will obviously want to hold the reference (path and file name) of the image to display. In your Forms and or reports the Images are loaded in as required. Perhaps something like this...

    Code:
    Me.ImageControlName.Picture = LoadPicture(Me.BoundTextBoxNameToPicturePath)
    .
    Environment:
Self Taught In ALL Environments.....And It Shows!

    Talking Got it

I figured out what I was doing wrong. The data base would not display .jpg files, but will display .bmp files. I just saved the image as a .bmp and put it in the image folder, and it worked fine once I linked it to the table (photograph field)

    Thanks all

    Question Inserting the image

I am trying to find an easier way to insert the image object into the OLEobject field, and so far the option I have found is:

    Right click
    insert object
    browse
    select image object
    ok

I should be able to use a command button or somthing to that effect right?

Databases dont display any images, they merely retrieve data accoriding to your specifications. If you are using bog standard Access then almost certainly you aree using JET as your data store

the display is handled by the user interface. Access can and does display JPG's, there should be noi need to convert to BMP images (unless you want to for use in other applications). You can assign an image to an image control.
