    Unanswered: Dsnless connection MS Access 2003 Problems

    Hi I want to connect my asp pages to Access 2003, I am using the DSNless connection it works fine when I don’t put a password on my Access database.

    When I put a password on my database I get the following error:

    Microsoft OLE DB Provider for ODBC Drivers (0x80004005)
    [Microsoft][ODBC Microsoft Access Driver]General error Unable to open registry key 'Temporary (volatile) Jet DSN for

    This is my connection string which I use to connect to Access:

    MM_cnnDisertation_STRING = "DRIVER=Microsoft Access Driver (*.mdb);Dbq=C:\Inetpub\wwwroot\db\db1.mdb;PWD=pass word;"

    My database is in a separate directory from my webpages

    Any help would be most appreciated,

    Rob

    I generally connect to SQL Server rather than Access, but I think you have to specify the user in addition to the password, like this sample:

    "Driver={Microsoft Access Driver (*.mdb)};Dbq=C:\mydatabase.mdb;Uid=UserName;Pwd=Wh atever;"

    I used the Microsoft Jet engine instead and it works fine now

    Just an observation
    you are more likely to get an answer to an ASP specific question such as how do I connect to a JET database in the ASP forum, rather than the Access forum. Not saying you won't get an answer but you are morelikely to find ASP solutions to ASP problems there.
