Unanswered: How to keep track of student's on every entry

I have a database that I am building that keeps track of student's tardies. I am stuck on how I can keep track of every tardy and print a letter out to the parents. For example:

Jane Doe comes in and it is her second tardy. I want the database to know this and print a letter out stating that Jane Doe was tardy on Monday at 10:00 and this is her second tardy.

What is the best way to keep track of this? I need to be able to keep track of every tardy and not have it erase the last one. Thank you.

If you are struggling to come up with your first draft, have a shufti at Rudy's (R937) site www.r937.com/relational.htm. It may give you some ideas of how to approach it, and how you can demondatrate your learning to the assessor.

Just thought I'd get it in before Teddy suggest it...
