    Unanswered: Cancel Record Edit

    I need to periodically run a make table query to generate a snapshot of data. All is good unless a user is editing a record while I try to run my query. Currently, I have routine that I force all user to log off before I run the query but this seems to be excessive. I would like to simply cancel any edits that are being processed when I try to run the query.

    I have a timer in my main menu that periodicaly checks a flag. When the flag is set (meaning that I want to run my query) I currently do a application.quit. What command would I use to cancel any edits instead of forcing a shutdown? The desired action would be similar to hitting the Esc key.

    Hi

    You sure you don't mean Esc X 2?

    Equiv would be (3 options I know of):

    Code:
    Me.Undo
    Me.Dirty = False
    DoCmd.SendKeys {ESc}{Esc}
    However if this timer is on the main menu then you will need to inumerate all open forms and apply one of these methods.
