Red face Unanswered: Loading data into IQ

Has anyone loaded data (which has been bcp'ed out from ASE) into IQ tables. I bcp'ed table data having delimiter as | & record delimiter as \n and this is how i tried to load into IQ

    load table TestTable
    ( colA,
    colB,
    colC
    colD
    )
    from '/home/tmp/ASEData.dat'
    quotes off
    escapes off
    row delimited by '\n'
    go
    (0 rows affected)

It didn't throw any error but didn't load the data. I tried giving from dir as Windows path which didnt work as well.

Another alternative i tried was using insert into ...select after entering ASE server information in IQ interfaces file. But IQ's isql session didn't like this way too

Anyone has any idea or see any flaw in my method. Thanks.

if there is no complex massaging is required on the data, you can simply use the INSERT...LOCATION syntax to bring it from ASE to IQ. Check out IQ manual for more.

Sorry i didn't see your reply earlier but i did try insert ... location method but it didnt help. Also ensured ASE entry is there in IQ ini file. It doesn't throw any error but neither it loads the data as well which is little confusing. Any ideas if anything's missing. Thanks.

The insert..location does work, but you need to ensure you have CIS enabled and set up. Take some time to check the documentation, all the information is there.

As far as the load statement goes, where is the column delimiter ? You may have to use escape characters if embedded in a script.

    QUOTES OFF,
    ESCAPES OFF,
    FORMAT ascii,
    DELIMITED BY '\x09',
    ROW DELIMITED BY '\n'
