    Unanswered: New 2 Oracle

Hi all. I am new to this site. I was told to learn Oracle. Can anyone give me directions where should I begin? Do I need to begin from Oracle or PL/SQL? I hope this topic will be useful for all newbies. Thanks for the reply.

Start with the Oracle manuals on otn.oracle.com. Anything you want to know is in there, although sometimes they are a bit hard to understand.

P.S.: Oracle Technology Network (otn.oracle.com) requires a registration, but it's free

Begin with the Sticky thread (on the top of this Forum).

As of your second question - if you know nothing about Oracle, I guess starting with PL/SQL wouldn't be a wise choice.

Before you learn anything, you need to understand the basic concepts of the oracle database. Read the COncepts manual carefully. You can find it at.
