Unanswered: in one box is it necessary we have db2 client and db2 server ?

    I am working with db2 v8.2.2 (FP10) aix 5.2

in point of performance view is it better we have just db2 server in one box?

If your client is on the same box as the server, you will cut down on network time for SQL requests, which can be signigicant in some situations. But the application (client) will use CPU and memory on the server, that would otherwise be available to the DB2 engine (server). So it depends on your specific application.

No, FP10 can be applied to the base 8.1 (no fixpack) or any higher fixpack.

FP11 will be available any day now. If you are still in development, I would recommend FP11.
