Red face Newbie Question... exist a tool for me?

Hi All! I'm new to this huge forum...

I need to develop a very simple database application for a client of mine.
    1) this program should be a stand-alone windows application
    2) i need the tipical function to the db: add, delete, edit and repot for print
    3) the db have 2 relational tables:
    table 1: a_id|a_subject
    table 2: b_id|a_id|data1|data2|...
A record on table1 could have one or more relative records on table2.

Question: exist a simple RAD database for build this program?
filemaker and access are to much difficult for build this simple funcion and i think i cannot build a stand alone-application...

How I need to use? Tips?

    thank you to everybody!

If access and Filemaker are too complex for you then short of using something like the old Lotus Symphony I think you are going to struggle.
I'd rather be riding on the Tiger 800 or the Norton

    Hi Mark,
Is not a problem of complexity for me, but for my end user client...
I need the final application is a stand-alone program very very easy!
Is it possible by filemaker or access?

    thanks to all!

yes o fyou have the tools available then either should do the job. My brother, who is used to Macs finds filemaker easier to understand than Access, coming form a development background I find filemaker is too "pretty" as interface centric and makes developing app in Filemaker a pain. Access has some of the simlilar issues, but personally I find it very striaght forward and simple.

If you can I'd try both and see which you aor your customer finds easy to use. For what its worth I think you will find more people with Access experience thatn Filemaker - but that may not be relevant in this case.

When you create a application with access it always needs access to run it. You can't create an exe as far as i know!

Sure you can! Pick up the Access Runtime and you're "good to go" for distributing Access applications!
