    hi,

i have oracle 9i running on solaris sparc u250 machine.
we are running oracle with our billing software that is built in java.
from past 1 month i am having problem that at times the billing software(basically RADIUS) stucks and receives response timeout from database in peak hours of RADIUS requests. i have checked and changed the RADIUS but no avail. now the problem can only be with oracle. i found a usefull script on net for finding out wait events in DB, it gave the following output.

I'd say that is your problem. Read the tuning guide to learn how to deal with it.

The best thing would be to get Enterprise Manager as that could help you a lot with this sort of problem. If you dont have that setup statspack as that will give you detailed info on sql, waits, io etc. and give you a much better idea of where the problem lies.
