    Question Unanswered: BDE and Jet

Is it possible to get these two to share paradox tables?

i.e. If a Paradox user has a table open and an Access user wants to look at the table a share violation exception happens.
The same thing happens in reverse Access has the table open and Paradox wants to open it.

Does anyone have any idea how to get this to work?

    Thanks in advance.

You will have to create a script which opens the tables in read only with explicit locks releasing all others. Paradox and Access lock tables differently so they can not share right locks. Alternatively you can use odbc and bde to access the paradox tables from access rather than using the jet drivers.

You can also use sql to bring up table views which will not lock the tables.
