    Unanswered: Date Conversion

I have a system generated data string (text format) which looks like "2005/07/22-13:07:43:657". As part of my data query, I need to specify the date range in the criteria section (Between #07/01/05# And #07/30/05#) when querying records. I'm not concerned with the hour, minute, second, or milisecond.

Using the expression builder, I've tried the date conversion functions with no success. Is there any other way to extract the calendar date from the data string above? I'd appreciate any suggestions.

Try using LEFT(yourDateField, 10) in both the SELECT & WHERE clauses.
oh yeah... documentation... I have heard of that.

Ahh.........hadn't thought of trimming the unwanted characters first. I combined your suggestion with the date conversion formula and got the result I needed. Thanks Teddy for you prompt reply!
