Unanswered: ODBC--update on a linked table 'table name' failed.

This happened a few months ago and i had to move a table from SQL back into Access. Then i moved the table back to SQL after a few weeks with no errors. THEN today i start getting this error again.

    any ideas?

Your connection was established? No changes in permissions/users/ etc ...? Try to relink to the table?
Back to Access ... ADO is not the way to go for speed ...

I can't remember all the problems you can get with linked SQL Server tables but some of the problems\ solutions include:

Make sure you define a unique identifier either in the table definition (preferable) or for access when you link.
You cannot have any Bit fields with Null values - Access throws a wobbler.
Adding a Timestamp field to the table has been known to solve these sorts of problems

BTW - are you violating any constraints (incl relationship constraints)? Can you affect the change through ADO or Query Analyser? i.e. can you guarentee the problem is specific to Access?
