    Cool Unanswered: How I will Know out of many init.ora, which is one is used

    I have one database instance running, but many init.ora files like one in /oracle/product/10.1.0/db_1/dbs/init.ora (as per my knowledge this is correct) and the other one is /oracle/admin/esamudra/pfile/init.ora.1502006....

    The valid init.ora and spfile.ora files are under the $ORACLE_HOME/dbs path.

    Oracle will first look for the spfileSID.ora, then for initSID.ora and finally for init.ora.

    Also check in these init files for a pfile= parameter to verify if it's maybe loading some other file!
