    Unanswered: 64-bit upgrade

    Hi,

I'm currently running DB2 V8.1 on a 32-bit Linux (Gentoo) OS. We just got a new computer and installed a 64-bit Linux (Gentoo) OS. When I tried to install DB2 on the new machine, everything goes fine until I try to create the dasusr. This is what happens:

    >> ./dascrt dasusr1
SQL4401C The DB2 Administration Server encountered an error during startup.
    DBI1070I Program dascrt completed successfully.

I cannot get the DB2 Administration Server to start. I have searched for what this error could be and found nothing that fixes my problem. Do I need to obtain different software for this 64-bit OS? Or do I just need a fixpak? Or is there something else going wrong here?

Thanks very much for any help.

    Jon

Though not sure, I guess you'll have to obtain a different piece of software...

check what your readme file in the installation says

    Das Errors -- undefined symbols

Hi there, since last time, I've reinstalled a 64-bit version of DB2 (still on a 64-bit version of Gentoo Linux), but still I'm getting these das errors. I looked at the db2dasdiag.log file and there are all sorts of errors referencing undefined symbols. Can anyone make anything of this? Why all the errors???

    Thanks so much,

    Jon
