    Never heard of one in Sybase context.




    How to identify which process is slow ??
    use monTables. Will tell you even the line number for the slowest one over a period of time.

    How to decide how much size sybase will take & how much O.S will take... Data 8gb
    Usually the raw data size reflects the size it takes in the database, you then need to add some overhead for the page headers + indexes. Can be done using sp_estspace

    What is importance of status=sleeping in sp_who
    A spid goes to sleep when it is waiting for a resource to become available. You cannot kill a "sleeping" process.

    magic table

    the terms 'magic tables' are not used frequently.

    They refer to the tables inserted/deleted inside a trigger.
