    Unanswered: Linking ip addresses

I've got a small access db with two tables that are linked from two different sql server databases. i'm trying to compare ip address that are in both tables. the problem is that one of the fields has only the first three octets of the ip address. for example 10.10.134.xx The other table has the full ip address.. Obviously, these are not going to match and no rows will be returned.

any idea how I can set this up? I would like to group by the partial Ip address and have records that match the first three octets underneath it.

use a LIKE statement in a query (with a group by) or an instr function.
