    Unanswered: Pervasive *.dbp

    Please someone help me!

I've been banging my head on this for three days straight. I cannot read a *.dbp file.

I purchased a product called "Data Manager" from Classic Software.

The program tells me it can't read it because it is not a Btrieve file, but the program reads the DDF file and gives me all the information about the file and includes the file DBP file name, but I cannot read it!

What error number (not error text) do you get trying to read the file?
What version of Pervasive/Btrieve do you have running?
Has this worked in the past and is now not working? If so, what changed?

The error number being returned from the "Data Manager" program is 30

Classic software says it should work with ANY version, but I believe it is version 7 is the engine.

No it has never worked. I'm trying to do a data conversion and have never succesfully connected to the data.

    Problem solved!

I downloaded the Pervasive Version 8 trial and it works great. Apparently the version of the engine I was running wasn't compatible or something.

An old engine and new data file format will cause a status 30. The old engine (V7) cannot read V8 (or V9) file format files.
    Glad you got it working.
