    Question Unanswered: Import problem

    I'm trying to export an schema and importing it from another one. The export process works well, but when I import the generated file, the user which I use, seems not to have privileges enough...

    IMP-00003: se ha encontrado un error 1031 de ORACLE
    ORA-01031: privilegios insuficientes

    I don't understand it because the importation user I have created, has DBA privileges...

    CREATE USER dvt IDENTIFIED BY ******;
    GRANT SYSDBA TO dvt;

    Exportation user is scott, and mode exportation 2 (User).

    Oracle 10.2.0

    Thanks.

    Did you

    GRANT CONNECT, RESOURCE TO DVT;

    as well? If not, try and re-do import process using

    IMP dvt/its_password FILE=scott.dmp FULL=Y

    To import objects into another user’s schema, you must have the IMP_FULL_DATABASE role enabled.

    grant imp_full_database to dvt;

    You also need to know that a user that has "SYSDBA" privilege is different from being granted "DBA" role. The sysdba priv will allow you to startup/shutdown the database and create/drop a database, but does not automatically give you privs like you expect to have as a user with the DBA role.

    Suggest GRANT IMP_FULL_DATABASE or DBA to the user and try again...
