    Question Unanswered: Efficiently scrambling fields

I need to take two fields from one table, scramble them while maintaining their integrity and place them into another. These are personal identifiers and the person can be in the file more than once. The resultant table should have the same "matches".

I'm thinking of using decode() in some way, but being a novice at Oracle, I'm thinking there might be a common way to do this.

    Anyone have any ideas?

    Cool

If you are looking for something simple look at TRANSLATE function.

    Otherwise look into DBMS_OBFUSCATION_TOOLKIT package.
