    Unanswered: what is data dictionary?

    hi ,

    I want to know how/where is data dictionary stored in DB2 and how to maintain the data dictionary in db2

    The DB2 catalog is as close as a data dictionary as you will find in DB2. See The SQL Reference, Volume 1, Appendix D, for a list of the DB2 catalog views that you can query. You can download the DB2 manuals for free from the IBM website.

    If you want something that you can use during application development before the tables are created, then you need a tool like ERWin, PowerDesigner, or ERStudio.
