Red face Unanswered: How to delete transactions from deferred queue

I'm unable to delete transactions from the
deferred transaction queue. I've executed the procedure
    DBMS_DEFER_SYS,DELETE_TRAN(null,null) but it has been
working now for 12 hours and does nothing. I can't stop replication so the transactions keep going into the queue.

I've seen it take 24 hours to delete from deferror and deftran on large systems. It must do things the *right* way, whatever that is. I've also seen it finish in under 1 minute. It depends on a few factors. IF the system has users generating new errors or transactions, then it takes very much longer. Unfortunately, there are no intermediate commit points, so if it fails or gets interrupted you have to start over.
