    Unanswered: DAO.Recordset not working

I have a subform that I had used previously on an older DB and imported it into my current database and I am getting a

    Compile-error
    User-defined type not defined

    My form_load highlights
    Dim rst As DAO.Recordset

I tried a different DB and it didn't work. Any ideas why this is happening and how I can get rid of it. Thanks, I am on Office 2003 and I have also used 2k at home.

I created a new DB and imported everything in it works fine. Should I be concerned that the DB may crash. Not a very big db

You probably just need to add a Reference to the DAO library. When you are editting code, go to the Tools/References menu option and add the latest DAO you can find (probably 3.6)

Sidenote: pre 2k+ versions of access referenced the DAO library by default, 2k+ references ADO by default.

This will be a FAQ item some day...
oh yeah... documentation... I have heard of that.
