I'm currently writing a function that ports data from a database table in one database to another table in another database; these two tables should be the same, but sometimes can slightly vary. When I do the port, I obviously run the risk of encountering the:
"Item cannot be found in the collection corresponding to the requested name or ordinal."
Error, which is because the destination table doesnt have a column in the source table. I was wondering if there is a way to test using ADO if a column exists. I know that I can query the sysobjects table to get valid columns, but wasnt sure if there is a way to do it directly using ado. I tried doing:
