I've inherited a couple of systems where JDEdwards ERP applications run against DB2 (v 8.2.2 on Windows, non-partitioned). While trying to analyze the existing configuration settings I've notices that on both systems the default query optimization level is set to 0 and the intra-partition parallellism is enabled.
If anyone is familiar with the specific requirements of JDEdwards with respect to DB2 configuration, can you please tell me if there may be any particular reasons for those two settings to be what they are? JDE "best practices" or something? May be JDE software is smart enough to set optimization level dynamically for each query? Also the workload doesn't really look like it's going to benefit from the parallellism.
I don't have any performance issues now, just trying to understand the reasons behind those settings.
