Post Unanswered: Update Listener Errors using DBCA

When DBCA attempts to update the listener files I get the following errors. Does anyone know what's causing this? I'm creating a database called test with SID test1. dmdev1 is the first entry in my current listener.ora file.

The error is being caused by the DBCA not recognising your SID
    addTNSEntry:sid=null
I would check that you have entered a valid name for the SID, & try again.
90% of users' problems can be resolved by punching them - the other 10% by switching off their PCs.
