    Unanswered: what is this

    what does "this" refer to in vb? is it a reserved word.

    i remember there was a "self" and a "me", but "this"

    um...don't know. i know that sounds stupid. but i came across an example that might help me with my ap (i am writing an asp app with vb scripting), and they send "this" as a parameter to a javascript function.

    i.e. function js(name_of_main_form, this, etc.)

    I've never heard of "this" as a VB keyword.

    It looks like they just use "this" as an example variable or object.

    this.material = material;
    this.color = color;
    this.size = size;
    }

    Note, in the example, the use of the term “this.” In a sense, think of it as
    JavaScript shorthand for "this object which you're considering."
    For now, just note its use in defining an object.
