Unanswered: Getting the Data from Oracle DB into Sybase DB
I need to transfer the data from Oracle DB into Sybase DB. How to approach this task and what are the best ways of doing it; like Dumping/Exporting/etc???
Please let me know the same
You could do it the hard way. exp out of Oracle with a delimited and write a format file to import into Sybase.
Or the easy way is to use a free Power Transfer Utility that comes in the Sybase ASE 1252 CD and plug into Oracle instance via ODBC and pull it into ASE.
Thanks! Any Programmatic Way??
What is the most proficient way to get the data from Oracle to Sybase and is their any way of getting the same Programmatically???
If you want to do this prgrammitcally. You woould either have to write something from scratch or purchase a middleware from Sybase.
ECDA from Sybase that allows to link Oracle tables in Sybase. This is not cheap though, but works well.
