Unanswered: Transfering data from one database to another

    Hi,
I hope somebody can help me with this. I have two access databases. The first database has one table in it and the second one has several tables. I need to transfer data from the second database to the first. I need to transfer only a few columns from each of the tables in the second database to the first one. And one other thing is that, the field names are different in the two databases (for example date of birth is represented by DOB in the first database and DateOfBirth in the second one). I need to transfer all the data from DateOfBirth to DOB in the other database. Any help would be appreciated.
    Thank you.

in a COPY of the first database
menu: file / get external data / link

then mess around with queries to
a/ select the columns (? rows) of interest
b/ alais DateOfBirth as DOB ...in query design, the top row would read
DOB: DateOfBirth ...you need to type the DOB:<space>

once you can select what you need to transfer, switch the query to append

    currently using SS 2008R2
