    Unanswered: database load

    Hi,

I have two sybase servers running on two unix machines,I have dump of one database from server1 and I want to create same image on server2.I know on same server you can just load the image by creating the database, but in this case I have to ftp the dump file onto different machine to load the db.Is that okay if I ftp the dump file?.ASE version of the server1 is 12.5.1 and server2 is 12.5.2 ,version difference will create any problems?.

    Please respond.

    Thanks in advance.
    BSR.

ftp will work. Or alternatively you can simply do a remote dump from server1 to server 2.

nope. it is just a minor version chnage from 12.5.1 to 12.5.2. Although there is an internal upgrade that occurs whne you load a ASE12.5.1 to 12.5.2
