    Unanswered: XML feed into database

    Hi everyone

I have been tasked on importing an xml feed into a sql server 2005 database. Now I am a network guy so I am completely clueless here.

    Could anyone help?

    http://www.iafrica.com/content_feeds...worldatsix.xml

Need to bring that into a database table (not created yet)

    Any help would be appreciated

    Thanks

Start by reading SQL 2005 Books Online subjects regarding the new XML datatype and its supporting functions.
If it's not practically useful, then it's practically useless.

    Hi

    Thanks for the reply

I have tried to do this with SQLXMLBulkLoad

I have a mapping file and a file of xml info. I then attempt to execute with SQLXMLBulkLoad. I keep getting schema errors.

I tried the same code as on the samples from Microsoft and I still get schema erros, even with their sample code

Could it be a server issue? Or am I on the wrong track?

    Thanks in advance

What is the text of the error messages you are getting?

Are you attempting to load data directly into production tables, or are you loading into staging tables first?
