Unanswered: Lock / Unlock Database Version

I am trying to modify a Access 2000 database and the queries and tables are no problem, I get the Design View option for both. But when I go to the forms and reports there is no Design View option. I have been told that this database is a locked version and I need to get the unlock version.

What does this mean? Can I make a unlocked version? I am the owner / admin of this database.

Does the last letter in your database's extension end in "e", such as "yourDb.mde" or "yourDb.ade"? If so, then those are compiled versions of the database and you will be unable to make any design changes to reports or forms. You will need to locate the mdb/adp that was used to create the mde/ade. You can google around for "Access mde" for more information and other solutions. There are utilities out there that will "unlock" compiled databases with varying degrees of success.
oh yeah... documentation... I have heard of that.
