Unanswered: Sync Dev and poduction data

I need to keep the data in my development server and production server in sync.....What is the best way to do this?Remember for example development data may have some addition columns in a table which may not exist in production.....Pls let me know how can i achieve this.

I cannot apply backups because i will loose the ongoing development ....

Periodic refreshes using DTS to push the data would be my first choice. The packages would break now and again as development superceded production.

Then again, I like DTS; there are others on the forum who are less enamored. of it.

Ideally all development changes should be scripted anyway. So the proper method is to restore a copy of the production database and then run your scripts to upgrade it. This of course has the added benefit of testing your upgrade scripts regularly.
If it's not practically useful, then it's practically useless.
