    Unanswered: Horizontal data display

    hi,

    in Oracle am running a query ,

    Select Customer_Name,Invoice_Number,Invoice_Date from invoice_master;

    Here data gets displayed as

    Mr. Henry 98756 28-mar-2005
    Mr. Henry 98890 28-apr-2005
    Mr. Henry 99944 28-may-2005

    and so on(Data in thousands)

    I would like to fetch data from oracle as

    Customer_name Invoice_Date
    Mr Henry 28-mar-2005 28-apr-2005 28-may-2005
    Invoice_Number 98756 98890 99944

    Any suggestions?

    This smells like some kind of a cross-tab query to me, but I don't clearly understand what you want, so I'm not much help getting you there. Since this may an Oracle specific question instead of a SQL question, I'm going to move this thread to the Oracle forum to see if it gets more comment/attention there.

    google pivot-query or goto asktom.com and search under it.
    there are plenty of examples on this BB as well.

    Actually looking at his example I wonder if he's actually after stragg rather than a true cross-pivot query. Again do a search on google for more info.
