    Question Unanswered: question about deleting an excel connected to anothers cell formula

    I just figured out how to use a formula to change the column of a worksheet from city, state to two seperate columns one containing just the city and the other containing just the state. Both new columns are linked to the contents of the original column containing the city and state. If I delete the old column, since that info does not need to be shown anymore, the formulas in the two new columns no longer work. Is there a way to keep the info produced by the formula in a cell and delete the original city, state column? Or do I just need to hide that column? Any help would be greatly appreciated! Thanks!

    Hi

    I you are using code then try this

    Selection.Copy
    Selection.PasteSpecial Paste:=xlValues

    If you are using the Excel interface then

    Edit -> Copy

    Edit -> Paste Special -> Value
