Unanswered: Information_Schema db available to all users

    Hi,

I just installed Mysql 5.0 and it all seems to be working fine except for when i create a new user it gives that user access the to the information_schema database although i have not give that user priviledges.

I searched through the docs and all the posts i could find and cannot find any reference to this problem.

Any help would be greatly appreciated.

    Thanks in advance.

    Richard.

If you attempt to make a change to the information_schema database, you should find that it won't let you.

Yes i have found that, but is there a way to hide the database from users... letting users browse through it could introduce a security risk (dont know how but might do somehow ).

    Hi,
I have found how to fix this.
You just have to put $cfg['servers'][$i]['hide_db'] = 'information_schema'; in the config.inc.php file.
