    Unanswered: connection through VPN

    when connect with VPN can ping ASA server, telnet to 2638 port,but
    dbping -c""eng=server;links=tcpip(host=server;port 2638)"
    Adaptive Server Anywhere Server Ping Utility Version 9.0.2.2451
    Ping server failed -- Database server not found.

    have you tried it without vpn?

    first you try on local network, if this ok than try on vpn

    The connection works fine on local network, but as stated, when trying to connect remotely, get above error.
    Could this be a perrmission issue domain controller?

    This is being used with Windows VPN Client.

    what i mean is try connecting without vpn 'remotely'.

    if you say you can ping the ASA server ip then there should be no problem

    unless you are using the personal server(dbeng) instead of the network server(dbsrv)

    or you are not using the correct ASA client

    or maybe its the VPN's fault...
